Following the success of last year’s series, Cine Window Winsford in partnership with Chester Photo Festival are offering a series of six free photography workshops on Thursdays, from February 19th 2026. Explore personal stories through photography with Dr Alexandru Modoi. Aimed at ages 16+ (although accompanied children may participate), the workshops invite you to explore photography as a storytelling medium.

We aim to nurture a network in Winsford where people work with photography to share their stories, feelings and heritage. The creative process aims to build better relationships between people through working together with photography.

No equipment is necessary (except for your phone)

Through the workshops, participants will have:

– Produced and printed their own photographs.

– Experienced various ways of working with photography.

– A better understanding of the role of photography in accessing memories and personal feelings.

– A better understanding of different types of cameras, both analogue and digital.

– A better understanding of how to potentially use cameras for their work.

– A better understanding of the role of the artist/personal statement.

– Become ready to present their work in an exhibition setting.

– Each participant will keep their exhibited work mounted (frames not included).

– Each participant will be ready to submit their work at the 16-29 October Chester Photo Festival.
